Cultural holiday to Scotland

The Holy Land of Scotland

Grail Quest: the Templars and the
Jesus mission
29th August to 6th September 2009

We invite you to come and experience an amazing journey through Scotland, ancient land of Alba, steeped in Mysticism, as we explore some of its Sacred Holy Places and its ancient Celtic, Hebraid and Druid heritage, much of it even preceding the Jesus Mission.

We penetrate the mists of time and reveal the abiding and sustaining truths on which 'western' spirituality is founded, with a compelling visit to Rosslyn Masonic Chapel, seat of the early Templars, with its many ancient mysteries (made even more famous by the best-selling book, The Da Vinci Code) as well as other sacred site visits.

We partake of the Autumn Equinox on the sacred Isle of Iona, spending time attuning to the powerful energies there.

This Spiritual Tour offers you the opportunity to step into another dimension, where we can open portals, work with the energies, using ourselves as vehicles for transformation, love and light transmissions.

BARRY DUNFORD, author of Jesus in Scotland and The Gospel of the Grail, will be accompanying Sandra Straw on this revelatory adventure again this year.

- proposed Itinerary (dependent on local conditions)

Day 1: Meet at Glasgow airport. Join group and drive to Edinburgh, and on to Rosslyn. Visit Rosslyn Chapel and Castle, working with the energies and taking lunch at appropriate time.
Visit Rosslyn Glen and Templar site at Temple Village (Ballantrodoch) and Templar Gate. After fleeing from France the Templar tradition took root in Scotland taking over the bearers of the Old Culdean/Gnostic Knowledge, and was founded by Hugh de Payenne and closely commanded by knowledgeable clans like the Sinclairs and the Stewarts. The Rosslyn Masonic Chapel is famed world wide for the beauty of its carvings, but more for the aura of mystery and magic that surrounds it. Drive to Glen Lyon region and overnight at Fortingall.

Day 2: Over these next two days we will experience the highly charged spiritual energies of the sacred heart of ancient Caledonia. We will visit Dunkeld Cathedral and St Mary’s Church and view locally an extraordinary heraldic painting, the central panel of which is based on the Resurrection symbol found on the Judgement card in the Tarot, suggesting that there may have been a Grail Chapel connected to the Holy Grail Bloodline. In the afternoon we will visit Dull Church and its sanctuary cross (the primary seat of learning for the Celtic Culdee Church), and Schiehallion (the 'Fairy Hill of the Caledonian' and holy mountain of Scotland).

Day 3: We will visit the famous Fortingall yew tree which is believed to be the oldest in Europe, Croft Moraig megalithic stone circle (c3000 BC), and Kenmore: the falls with Hermits Cave and Church commemorating the birth there of Pontius Pilate.
Our afternoon visit to Glen Lyon including the Roman bridge, the Praying Hands of Mary, and other places.

Day 4: Travel to Oban and then by ferry to the Isle of Mull.
Afternoon visit to an ancient Chapel site on Mull, and also Kilmore Church at Dervaig where we will view an extraordinarily stained glass window which appears to depict Jesus with Mary Magdalene. A silent island of panoramic views, atmosphere and charm.

Day 5: We spend a full day on Iona, St. Columba’s Holy Island. Iona is often referred to as 'The Cradle of Christianity in Scotland'. Here we can spend time with attunements connecting to the sacred energies in quiet reflection, and walking or resting. In the morning we visit Iona Abbey and the Nunnery, and walk to the sands at the north of the island.

Day 6: Return to Glasgow via Oban, or continue with the option extension below:

Extension Days

Day 6: (continued for extension)
Drive from Oban, north along the spectacular coastal road past Ben Nevis (the UK’s largest mountain) via Fort William, with lunch and shopping en route. Continue on the beautiful 'Road to the Isles' for the ferry from Mallaig, and then 'over the sea to Skye'!

Day 7: Morning ferry from Uig (Skye) to Tarbert (Isle of Harris). Afternoon sight-seeing at the famous Callanish standing stones – known as the Stonehenge of the North. Visit Carloway Broch and other local ancient places of interest. Then continue to Stornoway for overnight stay.

Day 8: Early ferry to Ullapool (mainland). Visit the world famous sub-tropical Inverewe Gardens with its famous shrub collection. Even palm trees grow here because of the warm gulf stream water. Drive through wonderful scenery across wild, northern Scotland to Inverness for overnight stay.

Day 9: Morning visit to the ancient and atmospheric Clava Cairns 'Passage tomb' site. Then on to Findhorn, the internationally renowned Nature Centre where a pioneering vegetable garden was made in cooperation with the Devic & Elementals kingdoms! In the afternoon, a scenic drive through the dramatic Cairngorm mountains to Glasgow and a flight home.
