Ayurvedic Health Retreat
Experience authentic Ayurvedic treatments and take time out for renewal, rebirth and leisure you deserve it!
The resort is situated on a beautiful beach, as close to nature as you can get, with a natural lagoon. All rooms are comfortably furnished and several have balconies or are open to a terrace. Accommodation comprises either shower or bathroom, have natural ventilation as well as electric fans.
On arrival you will be offered an initial consultation and diagnosis. Based on the doctor's assessment an individual treatment programme is designed to cater to your personal needs.
Purification is done through oil therapies and heat treatments. As sample list of treatments is available on request.
Experienced teachers conduct both meditation and yoga classes which are Buddhist-based. These have been practised in Sri Lanka for many years. Genlte yoga, which has been practised for thousands of years in the East, is a powerful complement to Ayurvedic medicine and healing techniques.

As we drive through beautiful hill country many of the above sights greet us. We visit spectacular waterfalls on the way to the holy city of Kataragama and visit famous Buddhist shrines at the time of evening Puja.
Our journey concludes with a scenic drive along the exotic palm-fringed beaches of the south-west coast.

PROPOSED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrive in Sri Lanka and check into a pre-booked hotel from midday onwards to relax and recuperate.
Day 2: Local sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Drive via Colombo and then along the palm fringed beaches on the touristically developed southwest coast via the Dutch Fort of Galle. Lunch and a chance to swim. Continue along the south coast before turning inland across paddy fields and lakeside scenery to the holy city of Kataragama, hopefully for the Temple Puja to the Universal Deity, Murugan.
Day 4: Take the scenic drive inland through the mountains passing the spectacular waterfalls on the way to Nuwara Eliya a charming ‘English Raj hill station high up in the island’s picturesque ‘Green Gold’ tea plantations. We visit the renowned ‘Hill Club' for English tea!
Option: an overnight ascent of Sri Pada mountain - one of the island’s most profound spiritual experiences at sunrise. (4-hr ascent on steps.) Adam’s Peak is listed in Robert Coon’s vision amoung the 156 major powerpoints making up the planetary New Jerusalem ‘Christ grid’ now being activated. Participants rejoin the group in Kandy next day. A small supplement will be charged for extra transport and guides in attendance.
Day 5: Sightseeing - 'non-climbers' depart for the drive to Kandy in time for lunch. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 6: Optional visit to the Temple of Buddha’s Tooth and the world-renowned Peradenya Botanical Gardens nearby. Or at leisure, shopping or around the hotel pool. Evening traditional Kanyan Fire dance performance.
Day 7: Morning drive to Dambulla with a tea break en route at a spice garden with a chance to buy high quality natural products. Visit the fabulous (2nd century BC) rock caves temple with exquisite ancient frescoes and reclining Buddhas. After lunch proceed to Sigiriya for late afternoon sightseeing at the 5th century ’Lion Rock’ fortress power-site, with a steep climb to the palace ruins on top, and the famous ‘Sigiriya damsels’ frescoes.
Day 8: Departure for Plonnaruwa, the World Heritage Site of a former 10th century capital city. Visit the royal palace, the Gal Viharay four collossal statues carved from granite, the Lotus bath, the Moonstones and the Tivanka Image house with the best known of the island’s Buddhist frescoes.
pm: Drive to Mihintale, where Buddhism was first established on the island. Continue to Anuradhapura for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Visit this unique city (4th century BC) that was the Sinhalese capital for a thousand years - including the famous Bodhi tree donated as a sapling in 247 BC from the original tree in India under which the Buddha realised enlightenment.
pm: Drive back south via a visit to the famous Pinawela Elephant Orphanage. Overnight near airport.
Day 10: Fly and arrive back in the UK
This 9-night spiritual journey is based on half-board accommodation (except for 3 nights in B&B) with air-conditioned transport and guiding included. Site entrance fees are extra (approx £35). We use comfortable hotels with swimming pools and/or lovely gardens.
